We Believe

  • That the writers of the Bible were Inspired by God, therefore the Bible has authority in our faith and in the practice of our lives and is never wrong.
  • That Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Father are all God but there is only one God.
  • That humankind is in a fallen, sinful and lost state in their relationship to God.
  • That in order to save us from this lost state, Jesus who is God became a man.
  • That salvation from our sin and the punishment that it deserves is only through Jesus, and what He did on the cross for us.  We know this as a fact because He rose from the dead and then went to rule with God the Father.
  • That the Holy Spirit works in us to change us and set us apart, to keep us holy and fit to be part of God’s people and protects us from falling away so that when He calls us we will go to heaven.
  • That in order to be saved we need to ask God for His forgiveness for our sin in selfishly running our own lives and that from that point on we surrender to him and believe in Jesus as our Saviour. We call this being “Born Again”.
  • That there is an afterlife where all people who are born again will be judged as righteous before God and go to heaven, or if you are not “born again”, and therefore unrighteous, you will be excluded from the presence of God.
  • We believe there are two instructions that the Lord gave us to faithfully follow. Baptism and Communion. Baptism by immersion as a symbol of our being born again. We believe that baptism is only for those that profess to be Christians. It is a symbol to us that we share in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. The Lord’s Supper, which is strictly for those who profess to be Christians, is to remind us of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us by his broken body and the spilling of his blood when he was crucified.
  • And finally that as Baptists we believe that it is every true Christian’s obligation to share the message of salvation with all people so that they too, can experience his love and forgiveness.
